A lot of productivity advice assumes a brain that remembers everything, starts on command and enjoys a perfectly color-coded planner. If that isn’t you, the advice isn’t failing because of you.
Three principles for a gentler system
Keep it visible: if you can’t see it, it doesn’t exist. Use a whiteboard, sticky notes or a single list you check in the same place every day.
Keep it small: aim for a system you can maintain on your worst day, not your best one.
Keep it forgiving: build in a way to restart without guilt. A missed week is a pause, not a failure.
Start with one system, run it for two weeks, and only then add another.
